EXPERIENCE

 

Attorney Nicholas Ravinet is of counsel at Ilabaca Law, PLLC, fighting for the people and families pursuing the American Dream.

 

He is a trusted legal advisor and zealous advocate who is not afraid to take on the U.S. Government and its agencies to ensure his clients’ rights are upheld. He understands that we live in a time where the legal path to citizenship is becoming increasingly difficult. But with every case, Mr. Ravinet’s goal is to be fully transparent regarding the particular circumstances of his clients’ cases, their legal options, and probability of success.

Early in his career, Mr. Ravinet served the indigent communities of Central Florida as an Assistant Public Defender. During this time, he gained invaluable trial experience and defended hundreds of clients against felony and misdemeanor charges, including driving with no valid driver’s license, DUI, drug possession, battery, grand theft, and many others. Being in a courtroom every day instilled in him a passion for representing those who truly need someone to fight for them.

After years of growing as trial lawyer, Mr. Ravinet left the Public Defender’s Office to defend small businesses, government agencies, and professionals against lawsuits involving wrongful death, medical malpractice, car accidents, slip and falls, product defect, and other serious injury matters.

​

Not long after, Mr. Ravinet was representing Fortune 500 companies and other Florida businesses in complex product liability, personal injury, and commercial litigation matters. During this time, he was practicing with, and against, some of the highest caliber attorneys in state and federal courts throughout Florida. But after years of being a lawyer for big companies with deep pockets, he grew tired of fighting against the people. Mr. Ravinet made the decision to use his skills to advocate for those who need help the most. He now fights for those who are striving to create a better life for themselves and their families.

 

In addition to representing his clients in their immigration matters, Mr. Ravinet provides full service legal representation for his clients’ injury, criminal, property, or business matters.

BACKGROUND

 

Nicholas Ravinet earned his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Ravinet served as a judicial intern for the Honorable William A. Van Nortwick of the First District Court of Appeal. Mr. Ravinet was also a Law Clerk at the Office of the Attorney General in Tallahassee, Florida, where he worked with Assistant Attorneys General to address the then-ongoing foreclosure crisis. He was elected to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law, a scholarly journal focused on the policy implications of alternative energy development, community planning, and growth management. Mr. Ravinet was also a participating member of the law school’s Business Review and Journal of Transnational Law & Policy. When he is not advocating for the rights of his clients, Mr. Ravinet spends his time with his beautiful wife and son enjoying the sights and activities of Central Florida.
